De luidsprekerkabels in de AudioQuest Flat Series zijn gebaseerd op een semi-massief concentrisch ontwerp. Alhoewel dit niet dezelfde transparantie biedt als de AudioQuest massieve geleiders, hebben de semi-massieve geleiders een beduidend beter oplossend vermogen dan conventionele multi-aderige kabels.

SEMI-MASSIEVE CONCENTRISCH VERPAKTE GELEIDERS: Semi-massieve concentrisch verpakte geleiders worden als een kostenbesparend en flexibel alternatief voor multi-aderige kabels gebruikt in een aantal AudioQuest netsnoeren en luidsprekerkabels. Semi-massieve concentrisch verpakte geleiders maken gebruik van minder, maar dikkere geleiders die niet van positie veranderen over de lengte-as van de kabel. Alhoewel massieve geleiders een complete oplossing bieden voor multi-ader vervorming, voorkomen semi-massieve concentrisch verpakte geleiders veel van de vervormingsmechanismen van multi-ader geleiders.

LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC): Kabels met LGC bieden een vloeiender en helderder geluid dan kabels die gebruik maken van gewoon OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Conductivity) koper. OFHC is een generieke specificatie in de metaalindustrie die uitsluitend naar ‘verlies’ kijkt zonder daarbij te letten op vervorming.  LGC heeft minder oxiden in het geleidende materiaal, minder onzuiverheden, minder grensvlakken tussen de koperatomen, en biedt zeker betere audioprestaties. X2 kabels maken gebruik van LGC geleiders met een semi-massieve concentrische opbouw.

SPREAD-SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGY (SST): Iedere afmeting of vorm van een geleider heeft een specifiek vervormingsprofiel. Ook al hebben radiaal symmetrische geleiders (massief of buisvormig) de minste onderbrekingen, iedere geleider heeft een specifiek klankkarakter. SST is een manier om de gewaarwording van deze klankeigenschappen te verminderen door gebruik te maken van een nauwkeurig bepaalde combinatie van geleiders met verschillende afmetingen.

I mounted it with a drawer pull

This wall mounted option met all my requirements, even though I feel it’s a bit pricey for just a small piece of wood and metal. It’s nicely finished and the shape will minimize leaving a dent in the padding of the headphones. I was worried that the color wouldn’t match my desk but luckily it was very close. Based on other reviews I didn’t trust the adhesive. Instead of drilling a hole into my desk I thought I would try attaching it with one of the drawer pulls. The hole of the wall hanger was just a millimeter too small for the screw of the drawer pull, but a quick mod with my power drill and it fits perfectly. I’m glad I didn’t drill into my desk, and if the position ends up inconvenient I can easily swap it to a different drawer. I would highly recommend this product.

Good design, but inconsistent photos. I think I got a dull-colored sample.

Good, but seeing a lot of inconsistent user photos. Some have extra racks or a little knob for cables. Some mount with the bracket pointing downward (you can reverse it if you want) and with two screws. Also, the block I got is a dull poopy brown instead of the bright & vibrant brown on the photos of the product page & box. Understandable, I suppose-- given the nature of wood. Plastic/metal would certainly be more consistent, but I wanted this to match my black & wood aesthetic of my office. Luck of the draw on the shade of brown that I got, I guess. As nice as this hanger looks and as convenient as it is, the dull color is enough to make me want to just leave my headphones in the desk drawer when not in use. A drawer protects the headphones from dust as well. I don't live at my PC, so having them stowed away when not in use makes more sense for me. I didn't really think this though and got a lemon of a color. Likely a return.
