Bij de nieuwe P5 heeft Cervelo zich gericht op het creëren van een snel platform dat nog sneller kon worden gemaakt met de nieuwste Reserve wielen en geavanceerde fit mogelijkheden. Er is ruimte voor een 34 mm band op brede wielen, wat de aerodynamica verbetert en de rolweerstand vermindert. De basebar is lager om de CdA te verlagen, maar de mogelijke stack is toegenomen, en de extensions kunnen nu worden aangepast tussen 0 en 30 graden in stappen van vijf millimeter.

Voor triatleten biedt hij een verscheidenheid aan opbergmogelijkheden, zodat je de eetwedstrijd niet verliest en voldoende calorieën binnen krijgt voor een sterke marathon.
