DE VOORDELEN VAN LINNEN 

Linnen wordt gemaakt van een vlasplant. De vlasplant groeit in de kustgebieden van Europa (Nederland, België, Frankrijk). Deze plant heeft weinig water nodig en geen pesticiden om goed te kunnen groeien. En daar zit het grote verschil als je het vergelijkt met andere textielsoorten. Het proces om linnen te maken is vele malen milieuvriendelijker. Weinig water, geen pesticiden en de gehele plant wordt verwerkt tot linnen. Er wordt niets weggegooid. Het proces is wel arbeidsintensiever, dat is ook de voornaamste reden dat linnen wat duurder is dan andere textielsoorten. Linnen is een lichte stof, pluisvrij en kan meer vocht opnemen dan katoen zonder dat het stof zelf vochtig wordt. Dat is een groot voordeel, vooral voor mensen die veel transpireren.
