De tekst werd sinds de publicatie ervan tientallen malen geanalyseerd en besproken. Nu eens wordt hij beschouwd als een metafoor van de holocaust en de uitroeiingsmachine van de gaskamers, dan weer als een eigentijdse interpretatie van de grot van Plato; men heeft hem bestempeld als een allegorie van de kunstenaar die geen inspiratie meer vindt, of als een parabel van de mens die eeuwig op zoek is naar zingeving, die hem steeds weer ontglipt; anderen hebben de cilinder uit de novelle vergeleken met de toren van Babel, of met een atoomschuilkelder… Een voor de hand liggende interpretatie bestaat erin de cilinder te zien als een nieuwe versie van Dantes hel waar woordelijk naar verwezen wordt. Ten slotte sluit De ontvolker aan bij de traditie van dystopische verhalen.

Its alright

True to size per the size chart. The fabric is soft but it it feels cheap to me. It attracts lint but you can brush it off easily so its not the cheapest material I've dealt with. Also, it is opaque (not see through).
There is no front/ back indicator either which is indicative of a cheap shirt in my opinion. Would be friendly for tag sensitive people (to stay positive).
