Om de Redelijke Godsdienst ook voor komende generaties leesbaar te houden, is het boek hertaald. Nadat À Brakel in deel 1 de zegeningen behandelde die de Heere in het genadeverbond schenkt, beschrijft hij in deel 2 hoe de gelovigen uit dat genadeverbond leven. Thema's die in deel 2a aan de orde komen zijn onder andere: de wet, de liefde tot God, de hoop op God en de zelfverloochening. 

De hertaling is van de hand van Jasper Stam.
