In Legendary is de dief Charles Deckard er ingeluisd om de mythische doos van Pandora te stelen. Net als Pandora kan hij de verleiding niet weerstaan om erachter te komen wat er in de doos zit. Door de doos te openen laat hij hordes wezens vrij waarvan werd gedacht dat deze slechts verzinselen waren van onze voorouders. Niets is echter minder waar: moordlustige weerwolven, enorme griffioenen en andere mythische wezens zijn vastberaden om dood en verderf te zaaien in onze moderne wereld. Legendary is een first-person shooter waarin je het opneemt tegen mythische wezens die heel klein kunnen zijn, maar ook zo groot als een flatgebouw. Het decor voor deze oorlog zijn de wereldsteden New York en Londen waar de bevolking volledig gedesorienteerd is geraakt. Als Deckard moet je samenwerken met een duistere militaire organisatie om de invasie van de monsters te stoppen. Daarbij vecht je echter niet alleen tegen mythologische wezens, maar ook tegen een groepering die de wezens wil vangen en gebruiken als wapens.
