Y-3 is de samenwerking tussen Yohji Yamamoto en adidas die in 2003 voor het eerst verscheen en sindsdien de grens tussen sportswear en Japanse avant-garde mode consequent heeft onderzocht. Yamamoto's typografische handschrift zit in elk detail van de collectie, ook in de accessoires. De Baseball Block Cap is de meest directe uiting van die taal: een baseball cap die zijn silhouet letterlijk neemt maar zijn logo groot en onmiskenbaar draagt.

De cap is gemaakt van katoenen chino twill met een katoenen voering, een combinatie die de pet zijn stijfheid en structuur geeft. Het geborduurd 3D Y-3-logo in wit staat groot op de voorkant van de klep, leesbaar op afstand en onmiskenbaar van dichtbij. De metalen gesp-verstelbare sluiting aan de achterkant maakt de pasvorm aanpasbaar. Zwarte klep, zwart koord, zwart silhouet, één wit accent.
