If the leather is just fading or worn, apply it directly and evenly, and done.
If the leather is seriously damaged, such as cracked or scratched a lot, you need to sand the cracked perimeter with 600 grit or more sandpaper to facilitate a better and more even repair.
Large repair and filling areas should refill the color with the same color leather care agent.
