The cap is a careful reconstruction of the typical head gear worn while standing watch on a ship or guard post, and commonly referred to as watch cap by members of the United States military. Though its clear link to the caps worn by Navy crews during World War II, its historical roots seem to date back all the way to ancient Greeks and Romans. A must, for long walks along the shore in winter. The Reef knot, or square knot, is an ancient and simple binding knot used to secure a rope or line around an object.
