Het blad is voorzien van een fijn rotanweefsel, dat meteen een ontspannen, ongedwongen elegantie in je huis brengt.
Het productieproces van deze tafel is het meest uitgebreide vakmanschap: om de dikke rotanvezels flexibel te maken, moeten ze een nacht in water worden geweekt en vervolgens kort voor de verwerking krachtig worden verwarmd. Daarom wordt dit materiaal minder vaak gebruikt dan bijvoorbeeld hout, maar het resultaat is zeker iets om trots op te zijn.

Onze producten zijn kunstig vervaardigde individuele stukken. Ze kunnen enigszins variëren in grootte, kleur en vorm als gevolg van de handmatige productie en natuurlijke variaties in materialen.

Hoofdmateriaal: rotan
Onze tafels zijn gemaakt van plantaardige vezels. Ze ruiken en voelen daarom heerlijk naar de natuur.
Rotanpalmen groeien meestal in grote aantallen in dichte bossen, waar ze worden beschouwd als invasieve planten, ruimte innemen van andere planten en veel voedingsstoffen uit de bodem halen. De stengels, die zonder chemische toevoegingen snel teruggroeien, moeten regelmatig worden afgesneden en kunnen na het droogproces worden gebruikt als materiaal voor meubels en manden. Dit maakt rotan tot een uiterst duurzaam en ruimschoots verkrijgbaar materiaal.

Bij de selectie van onze lokale producenten hechten wij waarde aan een eerlijk loon en goede arbeidsomstandigheden. In de fabrieken waar we onze goederen kopen, werken we alleen met volwassen en ervaren ambachtslieden. Bij het productieproces worden geen schadelijke chemicaliën gebruikt. Omdat alle werkstappen met de hand worden uitgevoerd, genereert het productieproces nauwelijks uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Dit alles verzekeren wij door regelmatige bezoeken ter plaatse en permanent persoonlijk contact met de bedrijven.
