Tijdens een mysterieuze brand in Grimstone Mansion zijn negen waardevolle voorwerpen verdwenen. Men zegt dat de voorwerpen vervloekt zijn en gevaarlijk voor de mensheid, maar het is onbekend waar ze zich bevinden. Department 42, een speciale eenheid die paranormale gebeurtenissen onderzoekt en de wereld beschermd tegen zwarte magie, is nu verantwoordelijk voor het opsporen van de duistere voorwerpen voordat hun volledige krachten worden blootgesteld.
