De Bodegas Anadas CARE Crianza Nativa 2022 is een houtgerijpte rode wijn uit de DO Cariñena, gemaakt van Tempranillo en Merlot. Wat betekent Crianza in Spanje? Een Crianza moet wettelijk minimaal 24 maanden rijpen, waarvan ten minste 6 maanden op hout, wat zorgt voor extra structuur en complexiteit. In deze wijn vertaalt zich dat naar kracht, rijp fruit en geïntegreerde houttonen.

Deze blend bestaat uit 70% Tempranillo en 30% Merlot en komt van wijngaarden op 450 meter hoogte in Aragón.

Herkomst: DO Cariñena, Aragón

De druiven zijn afkomstig van zorgvuldig geselecteerde wijngaarden op 450 meter hoogte.

  • DO Cariñena, Aragón: zonnige regio met krachtige rode wijnen.

  • Hoogte van 450 meter: ondersteunt frisheid in een warm klimaat.

  • Wijnstokken van 10 tot 40 jaar oud: balans tussen rijpheid en concentratie.

  • Beplantingsdichtheid van 4.000 stokken per hectare: gericht op kwaliteit.

  • Avondoogst: helpt om frisheid te behouden.

Deze factoren dragen bij aan rijpe maar evenwichtige druiven.

Druiven en vinificatie

Tempranillo – Merlot, DO Cariñena
Tempranillo zorgt voor structuur, fruit en specerijen, terwijl Merlot rondheid en zachtheid toevoegt.

De wijn ondergaat een koude schilinweking van 6 dagen, gevolgd door alcoholische fermentatie bij 26 °C. Daarna blijft de wijn nog 15 dagen in contact met de schillen. De malolactische gisting vindt plaats in roestvrij staal, waarna de wijn 8 maanden rijpt in Amerikaanse eikenhouten vaten.

Karakter en stijl

In de neus toont deze Crianza een zuiver en intens aroma van rijp rood en zwart fruit, specerijen en mineralen. De aanzet is rijk en krachtig, waarna fruittonen en vanille zich ontwikkelen. De afdronk is lang en wordt gekenmerkt door aanhoudend fruit.

Serveer tussen 16 en 18 °C om kracht, structuur en houtinvloed optimaal tot hun recht te laten komen.

Bodegas Anadas werd opgericht in 1935 en is een van de oudste familiebedrijven in de DO Cariñena. Onder het CARE-label produceert het wijnhuis wijnen waarin exclusiviteit, innovatie en respect voor terroir centraal staan. De naam CARE verwijst naar de oude Romeinse benaming voor Cariñena én naar de zorg waarmee elke wijn wordt gemaakt. Fantastic pillow for the price, adjustable is a different ball-game entirely.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with this. The fact that it is fully adjustable (adding or removing foam, and they give you a bunch extra) is a massive boon as I like pillows to be pretty low profile. It feels nice to the touch, and compresses nicely but not a ton like down. The memory foam that is inside of it seems to be combined with some kind of a harder material, it's all shredded so I can't tell what it is, but it seems like maybe plastic or something of the kind. Hasn't been an issue in any way, but was just weird feeling it when removing foam. I took a point off because there seems to be some false advertising going on. You can see in their picture that there is a tag that says bamboo side, the other side of that says cooling side. They also mention it in their advertising. As far as I can tell that is not true at all. The cover unzips so that you can remove the material so you can see that there is nothing on either side of it, and both sides appear visually identical to each other. Certainly I would NOT call this a cooling pillow in any way. It's maybe decently cool if you leave it in a cool place for a while, but over the course of the night warms up quite a bit. I did not notice any appreciable difference in the cooling of either side of it. There is a definite noticeable smell to it, but I wouldn't call it 'bad' like most memory foam things are when they come from the factory. It smells kind of like some kind of cleaning solution in a noticeable but not unpleasant sense. All in all, for the price this is a fantastic pillow and I would definitely recommend it.
