Over de plant
De zoete sinaasappel is een kleine groenblijvende boom met witte geurende bloemen en glimmende bladeren. De boom wordt tot 6 meter hoog en komt oorspronkelijk uit China. Tegenwoordig wordt deze sinaasappel gekweekt rond de Middellandse Zee en in Noord Amerika (Florida). De boom is kleiner dan de bittere sinaasappel (C. aurantium var. amara) waar o.a. neroli en petitgrain uit gedestilleerd worden.

Over de olie
Zoete sinaasappel is een essentiële olie die verkregen is via koude persing uit de rijpe vruchtschil. De opbrengst aan essentiële olie is ongeveer 0 5%. Dat wil zeggen dat er 200 kg rijpe schillen nodig is voor 1 liter olie. De kleur van deze olie is geel tot oranje afhankelijk van de soort en plaats van herkomst. De geur van zoete sinaasappel is zeer herkenbaar: levendig fruitig fris met een ondertoon van zoet. De parfum- industrie maakt veel gebruik van sinaasappel in fruitige parfums waar de olie wordt gekarakteriseerd als topnoot.

Samenstelling

Gebruik
Verdampen
Via verdamping verspreidt sinaasappel een zoete en fruitige geur. Deze olie brengt de zon in huis en zorgt voor een gezellige sfeer. Deze olie wordt daardoor ook wel de zonnekoning genoemd. Sinaasappel kan puur in de aromaverdamper gebruikt worden maar net als alle andere citrusoliën is sinaasappel ook zeer geschikt om te mengen. Probeer bijvoorbeeld eens een combinatie van sinaasappel met lavendel kruidnagel kaneel nootmuskaat ylang ylang of dennenachtigen.

Onderstaande combinaties zijn heerlijk in een verdamper! Ook kun je er zelf een huidolie of badolie van maken door 5 druppels essentiële olie te mengen in 20 ml plantolie of badolie.

* 3 druppels sinaasappel en 2 druppels ceder atlas
* 1 druppel wierook 1 druppel mirre 3 druppels sinaasappel
* 2 druppels gember en 3 druppels sinaasappel
* 2 druppels cederhout 2 druppels sinaasappel en 1 druppel patchouli
* 2 druppels benzoë en 3 druppels sinaasappel


In de ultrasone verdamper: de neus bepaalt het aantal druppels meestal tussen de 5 en 20 druppels op het water in de verdamper druppelen.  
In de Aroma Inhaler: 20 druppels op het katoenen staafje druppelen.
Op het geursteentje: Gebruik 6 tot 10 druppels voor gebruik van het steentje op toilet kledingkast of op het nachtkastje.  
Stomen: maximaal 1 - 5 druppels essentiële olie  
 
Op de huid
In de huidverzorging is zoete sinaasappel in te zetten bij een vette huid en de oudere huid. Sinaasappel ondersteunt het herstellend vermogen van de huid. Sinaasappel is ook goed te gebruiken bij een rode of schrale huid.

Essentiële oliën zijn sterk geconcentreerde stoffen en daardoor gebruik je ze nooit puur op de huid. Voor veilig gebruik meng je een essentiële olie met een vette plantolie als basis. Voor een ontspannende massageolie gebruik je 10-15 druppels essentiële olie op 100ml basisolie. Hiervoor kun je bijvoorbeeld de Aromassage Basic gebruiken of kies een vette plantolie naar keuze.
 
In bad
Eén van de meest prettige toepassingen van oliën is het gebruik in een bad. Wanneer je de essentiële olie in het water druppelt dan zie je de essentiële olie bovenop het water drijven. De olie en het water mengen namelijk niet met elkaar. Als de olie op het water blijft drijven krijgt de huid direct contact met de olie en dit kan huidirritaties veroorzaken. Het is dus belangrijk om de olie in verdunde vorm in het badwater te gebruiken. Hiervoor heb je een zogenaamde emulgator nodig die olie en water met elkaar kan verbinden. Zo is neutrale badschuim of -olie een goede emulgator.  Voor veilig gebruik van essentiële oliën in bad gebruik je maximaal 10 druppels essentiële olie in 10 ml badolie of hydrofiele olie voor een vol bad. Sinaasappel wordt veel gebruikt als zonnige olie in de winter. Vooral na lange koude dagen. Met sinaasappel creëer je echt een momentje voor jezelf om even opnieuw op te laden en nieuwe uitdagingen aan te gaan.

Waarschuwingen
Bewaar sinaasappelolie in de koelkast voor een langere houdbaarheid.
Gebruik geen verouderde sinaasappelolie op de huid.
Gebruik geen sinaasappelolie bij een gevoelige of beschadigde huid.
Vermijd de zon voor minstens 12 uur na gebruik van sinaasappelolie op de huid.

Kan dodelijk zijn als de stof bij inslikken in de luchtwegen terechtkomt. Kan een allergische huidreactie veroorzaken. Buiten het bereik van kinderen houden. Bij contact met de huid: met veel water en zeep wassen. Na inslikken: de mond spoelen - geen braken opwekken. Bij huidirritatie of uitslag: een arts raadplegen.

Helped calm my damaged skin barrier, but expect stinging on very raw skin

I bought this because I severely damaged my skin barrier and needed something gentle that would help my skin calm down and heal. My skin was extremely sensitive, raw, irritated, tight, and honestly uncomfortable even with water touching it. This did help, but I do want to mention that if your skin is VERY damaged or raw, there can be some stinging at first. I experienced that myself during the first few applications. The stinging didn’t last long for me, but I think it’s important to mention because people with damaged barriers are usually desperate for relief and can panic when products sting. What ended up helping me most was using this as part of a simple barrier repair routine instead of using it alone. What I personally did: * Wet my face first with either water or Avène Thermal Spring Water so my skin was damp but not soaking wet * Applied the Avène Cicalfate onto the damp skin * At night, I sealed everything in with CeraVe Healing Ointment (Aquaphor would probably work too) I repeated this every night before bed and sometimes during the day if I was staying home. If I was leaving the house during the day, I would do the same steps but use sunscreen instead of sealing with ointment. I honestly think sunscreen is extremely important when your skin barrier is damaged and trying to heal because irritated skin feels even more sensitive when exposed to sunlight. I used this day and night, very easy to use, and didn’t experience breakouts from it. The texture is thick but comforting once applied, especially when your skin feels dry and stripped. Overall, I would buy this again. I don’t think it’s some overnight miracle product, but it genuinely helped my skin calm down and recover when my barrier was damaged. I personally didn’t notice any strong fragrance, which I appreciated since my skin was already extremely irritated. I also like how versatile this product is. Even though I originally bought it for barrier damage, I can see why people use it for irritation from retinol, over-exfoliating, dry patches, or skin that just feels compromised in general.

Holy Grail of Moisturizers

I bought this after hearing a dermatologist on Instagram rave about this cream and now I see why. As someone who suffers from pretty severe eczema this is my go to holy grail for flair ups. Perfect for sensitive skin and can be used daily. It is very thick so provides a thick layer of moisture on your skin. I will say I have bought 2 sizes in this and the smaller size (1.3fl oz) did separate and had a liquid part that would come out. I have bought numerous tubes of the larger size (3.3fl oz) and never had an issue with separation with the larger size. I’m learning as I get older that more expensive does not mean better quality skincare. This is one that is not only affordable, but will also give you noticeable results. I have everyone in my whole family using this product!

2026 it has saved me
I never wanted a store card only! When I first applied I was bummed that I only got the store card and I thought about canceling it. BUT A lot has changed this year for sure. New grandparents, grocery being so EXPENSIVE and everything in our house as far as electronics needed to be replaced. Very easy to apply for, love the fact that you can apply without getting a hit on your credit and if you want to accept the offer then do so and if you decide that it’s not enough credit then you can decline the offer and no hit to your credit. I will say this, this was the lowest card that I was offered but I chose to get it anyway and within a month I had already received a credit line increase. I also took a trip out of the country and was able to order stuff and have it delivered with no problems. Every time I use it I get cash back and am able to use that on my next order. This is my weekly card for groceries. I definitely can’t wait until it upgrades to the visa, I would definitely get more use out of it. For those who are Amazon shoppers, it’s well worth it. So far so good, Good Choice.

Good, but you need to be careful with it
I've done business with GE CRB before using other store cards, so I knew what to expect going into this. I will echo the advice that a few others have given. For one, I would recommend that you only use this card for one purchase at a time and that you pay it off entirely before using the card again. The interest starts accruing immediately, but you are not billed for it until the promotional term expires - for example 6 months, 12 months, etc. You will see the expiration date and accrued interest amount on your bill. I always make sure I can pay off the entire amount well before the expiration date. Also, I schedule automatic payments through the website so it's paid every two weeks (pay day works well for me). I divide the balance by number of payments and schedule all of them right away. It's very easy to do this and will prevent late payment fees and the possibility of defaulting and getting hit with the accrued interest. I haven't had to deal directly with GE CRB customer service yet, so I don't have any complaints on that. The benefit of having a card like this is being able to use it for major purchases, paying it off over time, and avoiding any interest charges because you are paying off the balance before the promotional term (deferred interest) expires. You can't do that with a regular credit card. If you want a card to make frequent purchases with and plan on paying off the balance at the end of the month, you're much better off with a regular credit card. One warning... I noticed that after I was approved for this card my method of payment for Kindle one click purchases changed to this card. Keeping it that way would not be good and I wanted to make sure others know about this. I'm pretty sure you'd be hit with the interest at the end of the month since the purchases you would be making are lower than what's required to receive the no interest promotions. I changed it back to my debit card. Just keep on top of the account, don't use it to make a bunch of purchases, and pay the balance off before the promotional terms expire and you'll be fine. Like all credit, being responsible is the key to not getting in trouble with it.
