Polypropylene is a safe materialto use as a filterbetween two pieces of cotton or linen fabric. According to the Government of Canada, face masks should be made of at least 2 layers of fabric with one filter (such asnon-woven polypropylene fabric) in between (3 layers of material in total).Filters, such as non-woven polypropylene, add extra protection by trapping small particles of infectious material. Note:This material has a melting point of approximately 320. Do NOT use iron directly on the mask filter material. If you must iron your project, be sure to use a low heat setting and a pressing sheet or other heat barrier.
