Artist Statement:
"I love painting white japonica from my garden every year, and I was thrilled to discover a sweet little nest to include in my painting. Titled "Persian Vase with Japonica and Nest," this artwork features one of my favourite vases. The age, color and blue and white design of the vase always inspire me to paint. My passion for ceramics is long standing and with antique ceramics I always wonder about the stories the pots could tell if only they could speak. I studied Ceramics at University, and while I no longer make pottery, I have a great love for beautiful shapes and colors and I collect a few pieces to feature in my still life paintings."
