Details

Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) was at one time the most famous composer in the world. The popularity of his music eclipsed that of even his teacher Haydn and publishers vied to bring out his latest works as soon as they were finished. Some 2000 separate prints of Pleyel works had appeared by 1800 and his fame extended to every corner of Europe and as far afield as North America. Pleyel’s career as a composer spanned less than thirty years with the majority of his works composed in the 1780s. He founded a successful publishing house in Paris in the mid-1790s and later began manufacturing keyboard instruments. With increasing demands on his time from his business concerns Pleyel’s productivity as a composer dropped sharply and he ceased composing around 1805. The Sinfonia Concertante in B-flat for Violin and Viola was composed by Pleyel in 1791 for the Concerts des Amateurs in Strasbourg with whom he had been associated since his appointment as Franz Xaver Richter’s assistant at Strasbourg Cathedral in the mid-1780s. Like most of Pleyel’s major works Benton 112 proved exceptionally popular and was issued by no fewer than five publishers in its original form between 1791 and 1804-5 and it was also published several other versions including an authentic parallel version for viola and pianoforte. With no Viennese models in mind (the symphonie concertante was not cultivated in Vienna) Pleyel looked to Mannheim and Paris for inspiration and Benton 112 is far closer in spirit and technique to the works of Carl Stamitz than to those of his teacher Haydn. It is a genial, relaxed work, rich in melodic invention and light in thematic development. Pleyel writes beautifully for the two solo instruments, distributing thematic material evenly between them, and creating at times a dazzling web of sound.

Love it it was perfect for what I needed it for. Good quality!
Size: 4 Panel, Color: Black
It like a very dark chocolate brown/black. What I liked most about it is that you just pull it out of the box take the long plastic film off of it and it's ready to go. It has protective feet on the bottom. It's very attractive and it was so easy. It's so nice when you have a product you don't have to assemble.

Shipped quickly and as described
It was what I expected as functionality, lightweight and easy to move about. I plan to use it in my enclosed patio to obscure weight bench and wts. My only complaint is that the bamboo cover on one edge is not secure. But I will probably use a magic marker to cover the natural back that is showing. I don’t have time to return it as my event is coming soon.

Good product, needs double hinges for versatility.
Size: 6 Panel, Color: Brown
Blocks out all the light, looks good, good color. Only con is that it is not double hinged so it is hard to position the extra panels because I bout 6 panels instead of the 4 I usually get. Good deal, very decent price with the free delivery. Very clean packaging, came in great shape, no smell or odor from the factory.

Very Pleased with Room Divider
Size: 4 Panel, Color: Brown
This room divider is even better than I expected. It's sturdy but is lightweight enough that I could get the box up a flight of stairs with no problem whatsoever. It folds and unfolds easily and is very easy to move. And there's no assembly required! It really is woven and is quite attractive. The main reason I chose this item was price (although I did like the way it looked) and I got more for my money than I thought I would.
