The 30th Anniversary Vintage V72 semi-hollow electric guitar is one of the most versatile electric guitars available.
From ice-pick highs to the depths of syrupy jazz chords, this style of guitars have always had all the answers, often referred to by the professionals as the ‘sonic-problem solver’ in the studio and live stage performance.
Whilst effortlessly delivering the unmistakable classic chime and twang associated with this iconic design, the V72's lightweight chambered alder body acts as a natural acoustic soundbox, adding a noticeable low-end boost and warmth to chords and solo note runs. There’s also enough acoustic projection via the F-hole for unplugged couch noodling.
Hardware features that have made this semi-hollow model immensely popular with guitar players around the world include, Wilkinson Platinum Series pickups.
With a beautiful Boulevard Black high gloss finish, green pearloid scratchplate and chrome hardware, the Vintage V72 semi-hollow guitar is visually stunning. Additional aesthetics include, precision cut body F-hole and cream body binding.
The Vintage V72 ReIssued maintains all the sonic characteristics associated with semi hollow lightweight guitars, without compromising tone, output or playability. It's perfect for a host of musical styles from country to jazz, blues to rock, and with a ‘soft C’ profile maple neck and a 22 fret maple fingerboard, it almost plays itself, but not quite.
V72-30TH Features:
Body:
American alder body with 'F' hole combines with a chambered body for enormous resonance, tone and ‘correct weight’ comfort, enhanced with correctly radiused contoured body. Cream binding.
Bridge:
The Wilkinson WVFS hardtail bridge.
Pickups:
Wilkinson® Platinum Series soapbar at the neck and double coil in the bridge position.
Controls:
Single master Volume and Tone controls with three-way pickup selector switch. CTS pots.
Scratchplate:
Green pearloid.
Machine heads:
Wilkinson® WJ55 machineheads provide simple, effective action for maximum tuning stability.
Neck:
Hard rock Maple with classic Vintage ‘soft C’ profile for instant comfort, speed, accuracy and great feel.
Fingerboard:
Hard rock maple with a traditional 10” radius for superb playability and feel. Pearl block inlays.
Scale length:
25.5"/ 648mm.
Frets:
22 Medium profile frets add to comfort, accuracy and overall positive feel of the Vintage V72.
Nut:
43mm Graphtech nut for smooth and friction free.
Headstock:
Classic Vintage headstock design for balance and colour matched to the body for visual appeal.
