Madrona tends to have a lot of color variation throughout, and we think you will be very pleased with these spindles. Note that one spindle has several visible cracks that you'll need to touch up with CA glue. This is a fully air-dried blank, measuring 10-12% moisture content. This size of spindle is useful for a range of turning, carving, or other woodworking projects. Popular projects from this size spindle: game calls, bottle stoppers, shot glasses, tool handles, knife scales, toothpick holders, drawer pulls, honey dippers, magic wands. About the Tree This Madrona tree lived a long and healthy life on San Juan Island, Washington. It died naturally and was harvested in the course of good forest management. It was standing a while before being harvested, so there is a bit of spalting throughout that adds to its beauty. Not all pieces have spalting, but quite a few have black-line spalting and added color from mineralization streaks. |

Small Gold Heart Earrings

These are really nice earrings—long and elegant without feeling heavy at all. They’re super lightweight, so they’re comfortable to wear all day.

Probably not real malachite

These have a malachite-look insert in the bottom dangle piece. I'm pretty sure it's not real malachite though - probably a plastic piece or such. I only marked it down one star though because it still looks very nice (and it doesn't claim to be real anywhere). From more than an couple inches away it looks fine though. I say this because the green part in mine is identical between the two, has a plasticy sheen to it (no variation like real stone), and the back is white (not green).
It's a sparkly set of earrings though and the green is a nice touch, so I can definitely recommend for casual wear.
Just know it's probably not real - but that can be your secret.
