The mid-'80s was a magical time for high-gain tube amps like Mesa Boogie's. After a number of successful builds, Mesa's Mark I "HRG" model became a bona fide classic. The "HRG" - Hundred Watt, Reverb, Graphic EQ – would go on to be the amp of choice for many (many) '80s guitar heroes. Among these heroes was John Petrucci of Dream Theater who favored the Mark IIC+ HRG for its maximized headroom and tight-tracking low end.
Today's Mark IIC+ HRG Head features a faithful '80s design with an expressive preamp and one hundred watts of power.
