The pouch itself weighs 30g and folds up tiny. Inside it has a pouch of Calcium Oxide, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Hydroxide and aluminium powder, when it comes in contact with water it heats up rapidly to extreme temperatures. To use, simply tear the top open, slide your ration pouch inside and fill with 60ml of water (There is a handy fill line to show you). The great feature of these for a survival situation is it just needs to be any liquid so anything you have to hand in a survival scenario is good enough for it to work. Once you've added your water, roll the top and stick it shut with the self sealing tag and wait for 10 minutes. After about 7 minutes it will get extremely hot, swell with air and steam. Leave it for another 5 minutes for a roasting hot nutritious meal.
