Author: KEN GORBEY Publisher: Otago University Press
Ken Gorbey is a remarkable man who for 15 years was involved with developing and realising the revolutionary cultural concept that became Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand. Then in 1999 he was headhunted by W. Michael Blumenthal to salvage the Jewish Museum Berlin, which was failing and fast becoming a national embarrassment. Led by Gorbey, a young, inexperienced staff, facing impossible deadlines, rose to the challenge and the museum, housed in Daniel Libeskind’s lightning-bolt design, opened to acclaim. As Blumenthal writes in the foreword: â€I can no longer remember what possessed me to seriously consider actually reaching out to this fabled Kiwi as a possible answer to my increasingly serious dilemma …’ but the notion paid off and today the JMB is one of Germany’s premier cultural institutions. Te Papa to Berlin is a great story – a lively insider perspective about cultural identity and nation building, about how museums can act as healing social instruments by reconciling dark and difficult histories, and about major shifts in museum thinking and practice over time. It is also about the difference that can be made by a visionary and highly effective leader and team builder.

Great quality, color is ok.
Color: Cream Brown, Size: 2 x 6 ft Sheepskin
The quality, texture, feel and smell of the rug is very good. The hairs adhere to the back lining well and don't shed even with my cat trying to bite it out. The only downside unfortunately is aesthetic— the cream brown I ordered, in natural light/sun shining on it, looks more yellowish - gold.

Great Quality!
Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Shape), Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Shape)
I have owned many sheepskins before and this one is by far the best deal. Cheaper than similar sizes, but not in a bad way! It’s a beautiful creamy white, super plush, and is very long. We keep it on the back of our couch and it gives a very cozy vibe. I haven’t had any issues with it shedding.
Word of advice for cat owners: When we first got it, it did have a sheepskin smell but it isn’t a gross smell and it went away within a few days; however, my cat was very attracted to that smell and was “attacking” the sheepskin. We trained her not to do it just by spraying her with water—after a few times of that she stopped going anywhere near it. Now that the smell has dissipated, she isn’t attracted to it anymore but does like to sit on it every once and awhile (I can’t blame her, it’s sooooo soft). I saw someone else say their cat ruined their rug, so I wanted to give our story on how we prevented that and hopes it helps another cat owner. You just have to be alert for the first day, maybe even let it off-gas outside first, then keep a spray bottle nearby and the cat should stop messing with it!

Great little rug!
Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 3' (Sheepskin Shape), Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 3' (Sheepskin Shape)
This nice little sheepskin rug is the perfect finishing touch to my little reading nook. It’s soft and thick. Follow the enclosed instructions to fluff it up. I was going to order a second one but saw that the price jumped nearly $10 in a week. It’s nice but it’s not worth that amount. I’d buy it on sale though. Five stars.

Size: 2'6" x 6'6", Color: Ivory White, Size: 2'6" x 6'6", Color: Ivory White
I was concerned about ordering sheepskin online. So many scams & faux fur. And Wow!
Holy Moly - I’m so impressed. I’m from Hudson Valley NY - lots of sheep farmers - I know fur!
These are fabulous!
Bigger than the others online
Thick and full piles and beyond soft
These are beautiful - I’ve now ordered 3
If you’re a renter and furniture came with the rental - these can transform your space!
The colors are beautiful and appear very natural
PS: Do not expect bleached white color
And you really wouldn’t want it
I have allergies and chemical reactions
These are beautiful, supple and natural
They come with a linen bag, cleaning brush and care instructions
I’m so pleasantly surprised and maybe a bit obsessed with the quality of the pieces that arrived. You won’t regret this one!
I’ve ordered the white - over 6ft long draping my love seat. The brown - for two dining chairs that I easily move around. The photos explain - enjoy.
