Pima cotton accounts for only about 1% of the cotton produced worldwide, making it one of the world's three major cottons, alongside Giza and Xinjiang.
The name "Pima" comes from Pima County in Arizona, in the southwestern United States, where it is primarily produced.

Pima cotton has a fiber length of approximately 3.5-4.0 cm, approximately 1.5-2 times longer than regular cotton.
The longer the individual fibers, the smoother the surface of the yarn, the more comfortable it feels against the skin, and its excellent absorbency. This is why extra-long staple cotton is favored by world-renowned luxury apparel brands.
