"Rip taffeta" is a fabric made stronger by weaving thicker threads into both the warp and weft at regular intervals than the threads that make up the main fabric. Its
durability is higher than that of regular taffeta, as it wears out more slowly with repeated use and washing. It
also has a higher-quality waterproofing (urethane coating) than acrylic coating, which provides excellent protection against shampoo, perms, coloring, etc. without damaging the texture of the fabric.
