Voltage regulators regulate the electric current from the battery to the other electrical components.  If you find that your electrical system overloads when you rev up the machine, then you most likely need to replace the voltage regulator.   Please look at pictures and compare measurements to ensure that you are choosing the right voltage regulator.

Regulator details:

• 6-wire
• 2-plug  
• Wiring harness length: approximately 15cm (6.0 in) 
  
• Connector #1: 3-wire female plug in a 2 over 2 configuration
  
• Connector #2: 3-wire female plug in a 2 over 1 configuration
  
• All three yellow wires go to the female 2 over 1 plug
• Connector #1: 19mm x 12mm. (0.75 in. x 0.47 in)
  
• Connector #2: 16.5mm x 13mm (0.65 in. x 0.5 in)
  
• Connector #2 has 3 wires with one contact at a 90 degree angle to the other contacts. 
•  The mounting holes are center to center 80mm (3.1 in)
  
• Overall size is 108mm x 85mm x39mm (4.3 in. x 3.3 in. x 1.5 in)
