Description:
Since it first aired in 2011, Game of Thrones galloped up the ratings to become the most watched show in HBO™s history. It is no secret that creator George R.R. Martin was inspired by late 15th century Europe when writing A Song of Ice and Fire, the sprawling saga on which the show is based. Aside from the fantastical elements, Game of Thrones really does mirror historic events and bloody battles of medieval times”but how closely?Game of Thrones versus History: Written in Blood is a collection of thought-provoking essays by medieval historians who explore how the enormously popular HBO series and fantasy literature of George R. R. Martin are both informed by and differ significantly from real historical figures, events, beliefs, and practices of the medieval world. From a variety of perspectives, the authors delve into Martin™s plots, characterizations, and settings, offering insights into whether his creations are historical possibilities or pure flights of fantasyTopics include the Wars of the Roses, barbarian colonizers, sieges and the nature of medieval warfare, women and agency, slavery, celibate societies in Westeros, myths and legends of medieval Europe, and many more. While life was certainly not a game during the Middle Ages, Game of Thrones versus History: Written in Blood reveals how a surprising number of otherworldly elements of George R. R. Martin™s fantasy are rooted deeply in the all-too-real world of medieval EuropeFind suggested readings, recommended links, and more from editor Brian Pavlac at gameofthronesv

Great value for a nicely made suit that fits athletic builds
Size: Medium, Color: Black
I got this suit for my son whole has a very athletic build (wide shoulders, smaller waist) and we were having the worst time finding a suit that for him well without looking like he was wearing his dad’s oversized suit. This suit fit really well! The vest has a nice buckle I. The back that allowed us to tighten it and cinch in the waist to make it fit nicely under the jacket. The jacket fit well and with vents on both sides of the jacket it allows for movement (and since this is for a dance that was important!) and the jacket is well lined so the structure of the jacket is great. The suit isn’t a shiny polyester material but a nice blend. It does have to be dry cleaned. This is a really nice suit or the price and since ,y son is still growing I don’t want to spend a fortune on a suit, this one works perfectly together him through dance season and next year when he’s grown even more I’ll buy this one again for him to wear for next dance season!

Way too big
Size: XX-Large, Color: Light Gray
Can't really speak to the quality of the suit as it was only tried on, but the look was nice enough. Purchased based on measurements and sizing guide and it was huge. Probably could have gone 2 sizes down but didn't have time to reorder in a different size so just returned. Ordered XXL for son who is 6ft and 220lbs. He wears a large to XL in most tops and a 33x34 in most jeans. Many reviews advised to size up. He was drowning in the XXL. Color was nice light gray.

I sized down
Size: Large, Color: Navy Blue
This suit fit very well! And looks very sharp. It looks great with or without the jacket. I had to size down from my normal large to a medium, but as someone who’s skinny tall, I’ve always wavered between medium and large.
