Nouvelle carte pour conduire à la connoissance de la Marine et à démontrer la plus part des instruments qui servent à cet art et à connoitre la construction des vaisseaux et les agrets pour servir à acquérir cette connoissance avec des remarques". Sailing War Ship and marine navigation instruments chart by Henry Abraham Chatelain, published in 1712, in his "Atlas Historique, ou nouvelle introduction a l'histoire, a la chronologie & a la geographie ancienne & moderne." The engraved and hand-coloured chart describes basics of shipbuilding and nautical instruments and has a numbered identification key for over 100 parts of the sailing ship. Smaller inset engravings show a wind rose, several types of ship, methods of naval combat, compass, sextant and quadrant.

Henry Abraham Chatelain (1684-1743) was a Huguenot pastor, originally from Paris. He is best know as a Dutch cartographer and engraver, and an author of monumental work in seven volumes "Atlas Historic", published in Amsterdam between 1705 and 1720. The atlas included 285 engraved maps, charts and views, as well as accompanying texts, on geography, history, ethnology, heraldry and cosmography.

This poster is a high quality "giclée" reproduction of a painstakingly restored antique original, custom-printed on Standard Single-weight Matt Coated art paper 140gsm or  Heavyweight Matt Coated art paper 230gsm (more of a thin card density), or superb Epson Matt Canvas 320gsm, according to your choice. We use the latest UltraChromeHDX pigment inks which guarantee 60 years of colour  permanence (up to 200 years fade-proof for colour prints).  This poster is suitable for mounting and framing, as well as direct display on a wall.

This high-resolution, museum-grade fine art print is produced from a unique restored image. Printed on premium archival-quality art paper or canvas, it makes a striking addition to any interior as wall décor or a poster, and a memorable gift for lovers of antique and vintage maps, collectors of historic prints, historians, and explorers. Almost indistinguishable from the original Stuart period engraving, it adds character and interest to a study, library, or office wall. It also makes a thoughtful gift for all occasions, including Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, and Father's or Mother's Day.

... 8 year old son is having a lot of fun with this book
Format: Paperback
My 8 year old son is having a lot of fun with this book. It has a good balance of illustration and text. He has struggled to read and is considered average for his age. We have tried to get him interested in a series and have purchased many other books. Since reading Haunted library #1 he has requested the next book in the series. He also likes the Yeti files and is waiting on pins and needles for the next in that series to be released. It is such a relief to finally get him excited about reading!

Engaging
Format: Paperback
We love this entire series. We had read book 3 first & my 8 year old loved it so much we bought the rest of the series. There’s enough of a cliffhanger that you want to know who he finds next in his family.

Good for young kids and to read at night
Format: Kindle
My kids have really enjoyed this series so far. Just finished the buddy files another short chapter book with pictures written for younger children and needed another short graphic chapter book. My kids lost interest after the second one though and have moved on to funnier books.
