The Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Figured Top electric guitar pays tribute to the timeless heritage of the Les Paul. In a musical landscape often dominated by modern innovations, this model transports us back to the very essence of the Les Paul's inception.

For 2023, Gibson has expanded the Standard ‘50s model lineup with an enticing array of transparent finishes. This Les Paul Standard ‘50s showcases an alluring Ocean Blue top, elegantly paired with gold top hat knobs, cream plastics, and nickel pickup covers.

A fundamental element of the Les Paul's allure is its immediate sense of sturdiness and craftsmanship when held. The Les Paul Standard '50s embodies this, commencing with a non-weight relieved Mahogany body, crowned by a single-ply bound plain Maple top. The Mahogany neck features the iconic '50s style carve, while the Indian Rosewood fingerboard showcases classic Acrylic Trapezoid inlays, blending seamlessly with 22 standard frets.

The Les Paul Standard 50s comes factory equipped with a Gibson Burstbucker 1 in the neck position and Burstbucker 2 in the bridge position. These humbucking pickups, cherished by countless Gibson enthusiasts, house Alnico 2 magnets that infuse a vintage-inspired warmth into the tone. Furthermore, Standard 50s Les Paul models are meticulously wired with Orange Drop capacitors, enriching the versatility and character of the pickups' volume and tone circuits.

Completing the Les Paul Standard '50s is the dependable ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge and aluminum stop bar tailpiece, ensuring precise intonation and unwavering tuning stability.

Embracing the legacy of players, both past and present, the Les Paul Standard '50s stands as a cornerstone in the realm of electric guitars, serving as the instrument of choice for discerning musicians.

Crafted to inspire and endure, this guitar encapsulates the enduring allure of the Les Paul, offering timeless tone and unparalleled craftsmanship. Whether you're a seasoned professional or an emerging artist, it's your pathway to creating music with a classic yet contemporary spirit.

For kitties and ninjas lovers
Format: Hardcover
Excellent children's book with a collection of short stories and delightful panels that will entertain and take hold of anyone. The antics our kitten gets into results in tons of fun with some lessons to learn along the way. This would be a great read for any child wanting something beyond the typical picture book.

Very cute, lighthearted and funny
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
My daughter has loved this book. There are a few short stories which are funny and lighthearted. The cat who is a ninja, battles the defeats of cat problems. As a struggling reader, my daughter enjoyed this book and has read it without feeling overwhelmed. Recommend!

A good update for a fifty year geologist
Format: Hardcover
I wanted an update on plate tectonics as I was a geologist for 50 years and it was a theory back when I was in school particularly on mountain building I have been impressed so far I am about half way through the book and the book does a fine job of laying a solid foundation of physics and geochemistry that are the basics for the remainder of the book

An excellent introduction to plate tectonics
Format: Kindle
My rating is 4.5 stars. I dinged the book because I wanted more about geobiological evidence for and against plate tectonics, and because it didn't mention other global tectonics, such as single-lid tectonics. Read Robert Stern's article in the May 2025 issue of the GSA bulletin.
