Die Platine ist für das kompakte Horseman-80x80-mm-System konstruiert und ermöglicht die Montage von Objektiven mit Copal-Verschluss an Horseman Field Cameras. Originale Platinen sind im Gebrauchtmarkt kaum noch zu finden — diese Variante schließt die Lücke direkt.

Das gesamte Sortiment umfasst sieben Varianten: Copal #00 (26,3 mm), Copal #0 (34,6 mm), Copal #1 (41,6 mm), Copal #2 (52,5 mm), Copal #3 (65 mm), eine Extended-Version (versetzt die Optik nach vorne, z.B. für Teleobjektive) sowie eine Blank-Platine ohne Bohrung für Eigenbauten.
