After fresh snow had settled across a Maniototo farm, I noticed how the shelter belt seemed to take on a life of its own. In that moment, it looked to me like a resting dragon, its breath drifting softly into the winter sky. I was drawn to the simplicity of the scene — the gentle slope of snow, the quiet air, and that touch of whimsy that invites you to pause and look a little longer.

This image, Breath of the Land, is about finding a sense of life and movement in stillness. The way the hedge line drops away to the lower right leads the eye through the frame, reminding me how the landscape itself seems to breathe and shift with the seasons. It is both calm and a little mysterious - a glimpse of imagination woven into the quiet heart of winter.
