The Cryochaps Exoskeleton exercise boots are cleverly designed to provide maximum protection for your horse's legs whilst minimising potentially damaging heat build-up.

These all-purpose tendon boots are great for hacking, flatwork, eventing and showjumping, and are FEI legal.

Many exercise boots surround the horse's whole leg in order to give as much strike protection as possible. However, it is also important to ensure that your horse's legs don't overheat, as excessive heat build-up can result in increased wear, tear and damage to the soft tissues in the horse's lower leg.

Cryochaps have studied the main areas at risk of strike injury and have provided excellent protection in these zones, whilst the rest of the boot has been opened up to form an exoskeleton.

This revolutionary tendon boot uses forced convection cooling as well as allowing heat to escape naturally.

Forced Convection Technology

The Cryochaps Exoskeleton tendon boots are specifically designed to minimise heat build up in the horse's lower leg, while protecting the areas that are most vulnerable to strike impacts.

Forced convection technology draws air across the back of the leg as the horse moves, helping to reduce heat build-up during exercise. As the tendons and ligaments relax during the flight phase of the horse's gait, an air gap is created. This forces air across the back of the leg, taking heat away as the horse moves.

The Exoskeleton also features mesh vents, which allow heat to escape naturally. The spacer fabric allows air to circulate through the boot, wicking away moisture and providing cushioning.

Protective Horse Tendon Boots

As well as providing excellent cooling technology, the Exoskeleton also provides ultimate strike protection. Cryochaps have studied the areas that most require protection from strikes and impacts, and created a lightweight yet durable external armour to protect those areas. 

The internal secondary strike protection is provided by a specialised blended polymer that offers flexibility, softness and hardiness.

The Exoskeleton exercise boot is able to withstand high and repeated impact, with maximum durability. Strike areas are fully protected by both the external armour and internal materials, which are designed for the greatest shock absorption.

The materials are soft and forgiving against the leg so they do not rub. The boot can deform under sudden or sustained impact and revert to its original dimensions without damage, providing ultimate protection.

The boot does not hold water or sweat, which keeps the boot lightweight during intense exercise.

The boots have been impact tested and compared to similar leading exercise boots and found to be more protective. Effectively, when they are hit with a large force, less force is transmitted through the Exoskeleton to the horse’s leg than any other exercise boot.
