Croatia’s Hip-Hop activist and historian Phat Phillie recently curated a major exhibition, "Memory Lane – 40 Years of Hip-Hop," at the Institute Liszt in the heart of Zagreb. To commemorate four decades of Hip-Hop in Croatia, Phillie—alongside Stožer Agency and photographer Edge—has put together a 94-page book that chronicles his personal Hip-Hop journey and showcases incredible Rap memorabilia from both the U.S. and Europe.

Take a stroll down Memory Lane and discover rare photos of Big L, Public Enemy, Ice-T, and Das EFX performing in Zagreb; a fascinating story about how Yugoslav diplomat Milton Malden helped launch Sugar Hill Records; and original Yugoslav movie posters for Breakin’, Beat Street, and The Disorderlies from when these iconic films hit local theaters in the 1980s.

You’ll also find Yugoslavia-licensed U.S. and U.K. Hip-Hop tapes as well as highly sought-after, promo-only Hip-Hop tees from the ‘90s. Phillie has collected it all!
