The vinyl is a limited pressing of 300 copies, made in Japan, and comes in a classic tip-on record jacket that showcases Japanese quality and craftsmanship. About Ohmega Watts & Chikaramanga
Ohmega Watts, a Brooklyn-born beatmaker and MC from the Portland-based crew Lightheaded, and Chikaramanga, a currently Tokyo-based producer and member of the LA hip hop collective Giant Panda, have teamed up for a special beat project to commemorate TRES label’s 20th anniversary. Both Giant Panda and Lightheaded were key figures representing the early years of TRES, shaping its sound and direction. Both artists share a deep love for sampling and 90s Hip Hop, which has defined TRES’s signature style. Ohmega, known for his soulful, funky beats, and Chikaramanga, revered for his mastery of vintage samplers, honor hip hop’s roots while pushing the genre forward.
