FAQ A Level English Literature:

Why are there different options for the AQA English Literature A Levels?
AQA A Level English Literature allows candidates to choose the areas of literature that they wish to focus on with the set texts. Please ensure that you carefully select the correct option when booking your exam.

Do I need to bring copies of the set texts to the exams?
For both AQA specifications you need clean copies of the texts for the second paper and for Edexcel they are required for all 3 papers. You must bring a clean copy of the texts you have studied, these must not contain any additional notes, annotations or highlighting and will be checked when you arrive for the exam. The OCR exams are both closed-book exams so copies of the texts are not permitted.

Can I carry forward my coursework if I am resitting?
Yes, pick the appropriate option. You will need to provide the UCI number you used when you originally took the exams and provide evidence that the coursework has been completed.

I am completing my coursework with a distance learning provider, is this acceptable?
Yes, the distance learning provider will need to mark the coursework, complete and sign all relevant forms and send us this before the exam deadline in May. 

If I select the ‘Coursework Required’ option what does this provide?
If you select this option you will be contacted by our A Level English Literature specialist who will give you details of what you need to provide and the deadline for doing this. They will mark and authenticate your work and provide feedback. The service does not include teaching for the completion of the coursework however you may wish to discuss with our specialist whether they are willing to provide this as an additional service.
