Introducing the Alkly Designs Breakout Board for HP Common Slot Server Power Supplies!

Our innovative Breakout Boards are specifically designed for use with LED Controllers, but are flexible enough for all uses!

Be sure to check out the OLED Kit to get full use of all sensors and data available!!

Key Features:

  • Always-on Standby outputs (5v and 12v) simplify accessory powering and reduce clutter. Power your controller at all times, while removing power from connected lights or accessories as needed.
  • GPIO input connector provides remote control of the main power output. Easily control the Main power output how you want. No Relays required.
  • Large screw terminals support large wires and high power output. No more fiddling with tiny terminals that get hot during use.
  • Convenient plug-in terminal blocks for Standby power and GPIO connections.
  • I2C interface for sensor data access (data provided directly from the PSU and supplemented by the onboard ADS1115 analog-to-digital converter on the breakout board) See our D1-Mini OLED Kit for more details!
  • Both Horizontal and Vertical styles available to fit all use cases.

Specifications:

Dimensions:

  • Horizontal: ~128.75mm x ~59.25mm (about 5" x 2.3")
    -Installed on PSU: ~128.75mm x ~292mm (about 5" x 11.5")
  • Vertical: ~119mm x ~78mm (about 4.7" x 3")
    -Installed on PSU: ~119mm x ~247.65 (about 4.7" x 9.75")

12v-Main Output:

  • Rated to handle 100 amps TOTAL across all terminals
  • Rated 20A Max per fuse
  • Large screw terminals can securely hold heavy power wires with ease (Tested to securely hold two 12AWG wires under each screw!)

Standby Outputs:

  • 5v: Poly-fused, 3 amps continuous (Custom onboard switch-mode buck-converter circuit with very fast rise time)
  • 12v: Poly-fused, 1.1 amp continuous (Provided by the attached PSU)
  • 3.5mm pluggable terminal blocks for easy wiring

GPIO Input:

Recommended voltage of 2v to 12v. The board will tolerate higher voltages, (ie 24v), but long-term use at higher voltages may cause damage and is discouraged.

  • NOTE: GPIO Input voltage must be positive and referenced to GND on the Breakout Board!

3.3v Output:

Internal, current-limited (~10mA) output for use with a physical relay, or external switch, looped to the GPIO Input.

I2C Interface:

(PH2.0, 4-pin) Provides poly-fused 5v output (1A continuous), ground, and SDA/SCL connections for power supply and ADS1115 communication in a single plug.

  • NOTE: The SDA and SCL pins are 3.3v ONLY. Connecting 5v I2C will cause damage to the Breakout Board and/or connected Power Supply. Use a level-shifter if your application does not have 3.3v I2C communication (ie Arduino/ATMEGA)

ADS1115:

(I2C address, 0x48)

  • Ain0: Directly measures main 12v current via the PSU's internal current shunt (26.25mV per amp on the main 12v output)
  • Ain1: Directly measures 12v main voltage (Voltage divided, 3.75:1)
  • Ain2: Directly measures 12v standby voltage (Voltage divided, 3.75:1)
  • Ain3: Directly measures 5v standby voltage (Voltage divided, 1.667:1)

Push Button:

Basic explanation: Conveniently cycle the 12v main output by simply pressing the onboard push button. The button is a latching switch, it will never reset on it's own due to power loss.

Advanced explanation: Internally, the push button "inverts" the breakout board logic of the GPIO connector.

Typically, the Breakout Board defaults with the 12v main output Off, requiring voltage to be applied to the GPIO connector to turn it On.

However, by cycling the Push Button, the logic is inverted: the Breakout Board now defaults the 12v main output to On, requiring voltage to be applied to the GPIO connector to turn it Off.

This design allows for flexibility when using Microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP8266/ESP32, etc.) or Single Board Computers (BeagleBone, Raspberry Pi, etc.) that might boot with certain GPIO pins in a specific state (ie HIGH).

WARNING:

Server power supplies can deliver huge amounts of power. NEVER place the breakout board on anything conductive (Including Anti-Static bags) when attached to a power supply.

Match the fuses to the appropriate power capabilities of the wiring used to prevent fires.

Use of a Breakout Board is At-Your-Own-RiskAlkly Designs holds zero liability for harm or damage as a result of using this product.

Note: This product is not RoHS compliant.
Our boards are manufactured with traditional lead-based solder for durability in high-power settings. Please ensure this meets your local hobbyist or industrial regulations before ordering.

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.

dog ball
Color: Blue
This ball is perfect for keeping my dog active and entertained. It's made of strong, durable material, ideal for games of fetch. It doesn't break easily and is light enough for him to carry in his mouth without any problem.

Fun but not for rough play.
Color: Orange
The ball contented our “golden” Jaxson for about 15 minutes. He then thought it was a regular ball and it’s just a little delicate for a big dog. I just wrote it off as a loss. Great idea but should be more durable.

Long lasting charge!
Color: Orange
My 50 pound goldendoodle absolutely loves this ball. It keeps a charge for a long time. It turns off When it’s not being used and we play with it every day.!
