Explore the essential read, 'Is Austerity Gendered?', where Diane Perrons delves into the profound impact of austerity measures on women's lives in the past decade. This incise analysis reveals how austerity policies, which have dominated economic agendas and left a trail of social injustice, are intrinsically gendered. Through a critical lens, Perrons exposes how budget cuts have disproportionately targeted services relied upon by women, illustrating the gender-specific dynamics of financial austerity. This thought-provoking examination not only highlights the intersectionality of austerity's effects on various groups but also critiques the often-unquestioned justifications for these measures. Additionally, the book argues for actionable alternatives that can revitalize economies without reverting to detrimental austerity policies. Gain insights into feminist political economy and understand the urgent need for change in policy-making with this impactful 2021 publication, perfect for activists, scholars, and policymakers alike. With 140 pages published by John Wiley & Sons, 'Is Austerity Gendered?' is a vital addition to contemporary discussions surrounding economic practices and gender equity. Description:
Austerity has dominated the policy agenda in the past decade. Although it appeared to end with the COVID-19 pandemic, a return to harsh cutbacks in the future cannot be ruled out.
In this incisive analysis, Diane Perrons shows that while austerity policies have devastating effects on people's lives, their gendered dynamics are particularly conspicuous: budget cuts have been overwhelmingly aimed at services used by women. She shows how the gender aspects of this economic and social catastrophe intersected with a range of other factors, making the experience of austerity very different for different groups - and highly unjust. Not only that, it undermined responses to COVID-19.
She finishes by critiquing the justifications for austerity policies and asks whether there are compelling alternatives that can re-invigorate economies and societies after the pandemic, and avoid a return to austerity. This compelling book will be essential reading for activists, policymakers and students of feminist political economy everywhere.?

Nice and plain
Color: Raven Crosshatch, Size: Standard
Great wallet, not flashy. No plastic screens inside, no coin pouch. Just a plain wallet that holds cards and cash. Standard size, fits in my pocket well. I cannot comment on the RFID, but my works badge does scan through the wallet.

Great basic wallet for my husband. This was a replacement for another Herschel Wallet he had for 10 years that was finally on it's last leg. Definitely durable and classic

Almost perfect.
Color: Navy, Size: Coin
Really nice wallet. I love Herschel quality. One issue with this specific wallet is the coin pocket on the inside. Cool idea it's just the snap for the pocket rubs on whatever the card is on the other side of the wallet. I had to move my license to a different spot before it was ruined.
