How It Works
The GE XWFE filter uses an activated carbon block and RFID chip technology to ensure precise filtration and smart compatibility. As water passes through the carbon media, contaminants such as chlorine, lead, and pharmaceuticals are absorbed, delivering cleaner, odor-free water. The RFID sensor verifies genuine GE parts and alerts you when it’s time to replace the filter. Regular replacement every 6 months maintains consistent water quality and refrigerator performance.

What’s the difference between GE XWF and XWFE filters?
The XWFE includes an RFID chip for smart GE refrigerators, while the XWF works in non-smart models.
How often should I replace the XWFE filter?
Every 6 months or after filtering about 170 gallons of water, whichever comes first.
Does this filter reduce lead and sulfur?
Yes, it’s NSF/ANSI 53 certified for lead reduction and 42 certified for sulfur and chlorine taste/odor reduction.
Can I use off-brand filters instead of GE XWFE?
Non-GE filters may not communicate properly with the fridge’s RFID system and could disable the water dispenser.

If the set screws were white the shelves would be perfect.

I'd give 4 1/2 if there was one. The shelves thwmself are nice I just don't like the visible little black set screws. The shelves themself look great and are not wobbly at all if you install correctly. I purposely installed the bracket upside down because of the little black setting screws; I didnt want them showing because the shelves are above eye level and the screws are black and I didn't want them showing. But that made the shelf lean amd wobbly so I turned them back over the way they are supposed to be and that made them level and sturdy. I guess I'll paint the little screws.

Great small hanging shelf
These were a great addition to my DYI bathroom remodel. I needed that exact length and it fit perfect for my needs and I was able to install it myself. I’m a 53-year-old woman. I used the other one for a shelf for a candle as well. It holds my oral hygiene caddy well, keeping my sink counter clean.
