It’s interesting that when we built our last Fish Fighter boat, we looked high and low for that perfect rope cleat. We tried the ones that lay flay but they are bigger than we wanted, and the release button is almost always broken or stuck. We tried other aluminum docking cleats, but they were either too small or too big and none would work as a grab handle. Like almost all our products we designed the product the way we wanted it, and with the help of our customers we designed the Billet Aluminum Rope Cleat /Grab Handle they wanted. The result of all that effort is the Fish Fighter all in one Ultimate Rope Cleat & Grab Handle Combo. The Fish Fighter Rope Cleat and Grab Handle is a great product for both applications. As a grab handle it is shaped to be easy to grab and hold onto. It’s perfect along the gunnel and gives an easy way to hold the boat along the dock and works great mounted higher as a boarding handle. We make this Billet Rope Cleat / Grab Handle right here in Idaho. We start with Billet Aluminum and CNC machine the shape on our own machines. We spent the last year testing this design and feel we have a winner. As a rope cleat we machined in small subtle bumps on each end to help retain the rope and to give a soft corner for bare feet. Anyone who stepped on a pointed rope cleat knows what I mean. If you are looking for the Ultimate Docking Cleat that can double as a grab handle you have found it. Installing is simple with our bolt on design. All stainless hardware is included. For those who want to replace an old cleat and may need to cover up holes we also offer 1/8” thick aluminum trim plate in raw finish that you can use if you want. Available in several options we are sure you will find the combination that works for you. The Offshore Rope Cleats are about 1/4” taller than our onshore cleat and was designed for Boats over 26ft that the captain may want to use ½” docking lines on.
