Our Valhalla Dutch Hoods are some of the best fitting and sewn for a reasonable price.  They provide an excellent fit for the ‘rounder’ heads of all medium to large falcons and will also fit medium to large hawks. They are made using quality two-pieced dyed two-tone brown calf leather with double-stitched eye seams and neck. Tait style blocks are used to mold the hoods for extra eye space and great fit.  Gortex cloth braces are installed for smooth operation whether the hood is dry or wet and the top of the hood has a double Turk’s knot for easy handling.

Before each hood is shipped, we go the extra mile by hand molding the beak opening using warm water and a touch of leather grease. This final adjustment almost guarantees perfect fit right out of the box!

You can order and pay for two or more hoods and choose the one that fits the best and then return the others in perfect condition for a full refund. If ordering just one hood for your bird, keep in mind that you can effectively change the size of the hood up or down a size simply by further molding the beak opening by wetting it and using your fingers to change the opening.
