Nimrod Boys is a complementary book to Nimrod Rise and Fall from acclaimed author Tony Blackman. It is a collection of over twenty first-hand accounts of operating the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod – an aircraft which served at the forefront of the Cold War. As the first jet-powered maritime aircraft, it could reach critical points for rescues or for operational requirements in rapid time. Its outstanding navigation and electronics systems also allowed the Nimrod to be a first-class machine in anti-submarine warfare. The book focuses on the Nimrod’s UK-based and worldwide operations. With detailed accounts of the Nimrod’s role during the Falklands Campaign and in later conflicts such as the First Gulf War to modern-day anti-drug smuggling operations in the Caribbean. There are also descriptions of the Nimrod’s achievements in the International Fincastle Competition – where RAF squadrons competed against counterparts from Australia, Canada and New Zealand. With a variety of perspectives on Nimrod crew life, including from a female air electronic operator, readers will find dramatic, engaging and occasionally humorous stories. One flight test observer also reflects on the cancelled Nimrod MR4 project. Nimrod Boys written by Tony Blackman with Joe Kennedy and with a foreword by AVM Andrew Roberts is more than worthy addition to the celebrated Boys series.

Great quality of life improvement!
Color: Black
Got this on sale for $40.
This thing is crazy good for the price, especially if you get it on sale.
Battery life isn’t a huge concern anyway, but rechargeable USB-C is great. Because it’s wireless, the stick is on the thicker side. This makes it easy to clean, but also inadvisable for your thinner meats (obviously). It looks right at home stuck on my fridge by the oven and air fryer, and temps it gave me through the phone were pretty close.
I connected this to my 2.4Ghz network, which I can easily monitor from my phone connected on my 5Ghz network. I think it could do better with its time estimates, but I’m physically close enough to my food when it’s nearly done cooking anyway.
I tested with frozen steak straight into the air fryer. It was quite close to what I was looking for, compared to how I’d do it before without a thermometer. As someone with little to no time to cook every day, it really eases the mental burden for sure of knowing that the food’s not under- or over-done. For $40, totally worth it.

Great engineering for amazing price
Color: Black
This is the deal of deals. The signal goes through my oven door with zero problems. The sensor inserts neatly into the controller slot. Nice. But that's not all. This thing is Gold Lite, and has the transmission frequency that is 10X better than Bluetooth. The App is probably same as the 4X higher priced Gold Edition, which is worth the price of admission. whose only advantage is that the sensor is good for 752F instead of 932F (yes the descriptions says good for 932F, but Lin the photo it says 752F) . The 932F is not anywhere good enough for my radiant ceramic grill, which goes up above 1300F anyway. So I saved a bunch of money and have something that does everything I need and no more.
For the price, this is 5 star

No-brainer
Color: Black
Works as expected and looks premium for the price. App is very functional and easy to use.
Thought it was silly to have a paired thermometer but this convinced me otherwise as it’s very fun to use and it gives more inputs to how you’re cooking your stuff (eg it has multiple sensors covering different parts of the meat)

Broke in less than a week.
We got this less than a week ago and the handle is already broken. No one dropped it or hit it with a hammer. It broke being washed in the sink.
