Once you work with this block, the freshly exposed surfaces will deepen in color with light and air exposure. This block has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There are several large cracks and some very interesting bark inclusions in this blank. It may be complex on the inside. We recommend stabilizing with CA glue as needed. This blank may be best suited for sharp tools and a skilled turner. |

Not sure if these are truely 14 guage.

I think that the wire is good quality, but I wound up using some wire that I already had after stripping some of this back and then comparing it with my old 14 gauge wire. I did not get out a caliper and measure it, but by feel and visual comparison it did not seem to be as heavy as my old wire.
