This antique Chinese Ningxia carpet was woven in the last quarter 19th century and features a striking all over elaborate interconnected vinery with blossoming peony flowers and floating multicolored butterflies. The main border shares a similar spirit from the field design with the use of soft earthy colors and cloudband design motifs and a beautiful array of lotus flowers with symbolic meanings including happiness.
