Description

1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar, Ebony w/ OHSC - UsedThis Les Paul model hails from the Gibson "Norlin" Era, spanning from 1969 to 1986. Its construction is similar to the original Ebony Les Paul Customs from the 1950s just with a few modifications. The 1968 reissue of the Custom model prompted Gibson to adopt the maple cap, reminiscent of the revered 1958 1960 "burst" models. Several other adjustments were introduced during this era, such as the removal of the dot from the "i" in the Gibson logo

This Les Paul model hails from the Gibson "Norlin" Era, spanning from 1969 to 1986. Its construction is similar to the original Ebony Les Paul Customs from the 1950s just with a few modifications. The 1968 reissue of the Custom model prompted Gibson to adopt the maple cap, reminiscent of the revered 1958-1960 "burst" models. Several other adjustments were introduced during this era, such as the removal of the dot from the "i" in the Gibson logo between 1968 and 1972, a 3-piece Mahogany neck, a "made in the USA" stamp behind the headstock, a headstock volute, and the use of "witch hat" knobs. What sets this Les Paul apart is its distinctive "D" neck profile, which begins to taper at the 7th fret, providing substantial shoulder support. The original Kluson Sealfast tuners, affectionately called "Waffleback" tuners, have been replaced with Gold Grover tuners, necessitating the filling and painting of the tuner holes. The heart of this Gibson Les Paul lies in its Patent humbuckers, boasting an Ohm rating of 7.23 in the bridge and 7.54 in the neck. Despite their lower output, these pickups offer exceptional clarity, delivering smooth highs whether played clean or overdriven.

This 1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom is in very good condition. It has has had a fresh setup with 10-46 D'addario XT strings. The original fretless wonder frets hold true to the name and are on the low side. The finish shows signs of checking across the entire guitar. The neck has a few larger dings dead center at the 3rd and 7-9th frets. There is some play wear exposing the mahogany neck on the treble side from the 8th-11th fret. All of the hardware has aged very nicely with lots of patina. Original tuners(not included) have been replaced with Grover kidney bean style tuners. 1 truss rod cover screw has been replaced. Dunlop strap lok buttons are currently installed. Original buttons are in the case.

Ain't a better leader than Jesus.....
Format: Paperback
Seriously. Jesus really set the example of being an outstanding leader. His lifestyle demonstration of servant-leadership was pretty novel and has literally changed the world. Also, He wasn't a wuss and He set good boundaries. He truly let His Yes mean Yes - and His No meant No (and still does). If you don't know Him as Lord, this book will help draw you into how amazing He was/is - and maybe then you'll want to know more and read His word?? I wasn't thrilled with all aspects of this book as I think they could have done better to draw some of the attributes of Jesus. But I don't have any disagreements or arguments with what they wrote. Maybe some was a bit weak (unlike Jesus....!) But it is def a good book if you are starting to study what was so great about Jesus as a leader. Gives good examples and provides the basic foundation of Him as a man and leading a diverse group of folks. And does well to apply to today's world and how you can apply these attributes.

Great Christian Leadership Book
Format: Paperback
Using this as a high school leadership text for our Lutheran High School. It gives a great template for discussion using the 4 H's of Head. Heart, Hands, and Habits! For any 4-H'ers out there, does that sound vaguely familiar?
