This delightful expression from Glenmorangie is the result of a unique experiment by Dr. Bill Lumsden, the distillery's Director of Whisky Creation, who sought to encapsulate the essence of cake and the happiness it brings into a luxurious whisky.
A Tale of Cake was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in specially selected Tokaji dessert wine casks from Hungary. This additional aging process imbues the whisky with a deep, golden sweetness and complex layers of flavour. On the nose, it offers an irresistible blend of honey, white chocolate, and fruit, evoking the aroma of a freshly baked cake drizzled with a rich, sweet glaze.
The palate continues this decadent experience, with flavours of apricots, peaches, and a hint of citrus zest mingling with smooth vanilla.
