If you own one of gun stocks either the normal or the pro and have just got the new HEADSET dont fear with this simple upgrade you can convert your current gunstock purchased from us to a COMPATIBLE WITH quest 2 gun stock quick and easily.

Kit comes with 2 cradle cups to hold the new form controllers, 2 magnets screwed into place. (Please note if the polarity is reversed the magnets will be need to be removed and glued into place with the provided glue).

First check if the cups attract the cradles, if they do nothing else is needed to be done and you’re all set to go, discard the supplied glue. If they repel then follow the procedure below with the supplied glue.

Construction.

1. Unscrew the magnets from the cups and then glue them in the opposite way round to how they were screwed in. (trust me it’s easy to glue it in the wrong way so double check). How to glue them follows.
2. Push some glue out and mix it. be warned it dries very quick.
3. put some in the bottom of the cradle in the magnet hole
4. push the magnet it and press it down so it sits flush with the bottom of the control cradle cup. The glue dries quick and keep of your hands as this is basically super glue.
5. wipe of excess glue
6. Leave 24 hours to cure then play.
7. Discard the screw and Nylock nut as they are now not needed. Done

It is made from a plastic called PLA which is made from vegetable oil so is environment friendly.

Compact, loud, controls similar to Baofeng handheld, knobs aren't that great.
My first mobile rig, and currently the one I'm still using. I don't' use it too heavy, but I've had it for about 3 years and it's worked great. I've used it on many different applications Pros: Compact size, good display, small fan on the rear to help keep the unit cool. The controls are very similar to a Baofeng handheld radio so great for beginners who likely started out with that brand. Compatible with GMRS, FRS, other "out of band" frequencies (mine was from the box, I can't guarantee the same with a newer model though). Do this at your own "risk," you are an adult and can make your own choices :) Cons: Fan is a bit loud if that's something that bothers you during a long QSO. Repeater tail squelch is loud at times. But the biggest con by far is the knobs are garbage. They are rubber, and you will most certainly have one fall of at some point and loose it. I purchased some small guitar amp knobs and replaced the (now both lost) factory knobs. If the knobs were metal or fixed to the device I would give 5 stars.

radio runs hot even when not transmitting. programming cable does not work with win 11. it does work with chirp once you find a 10 year old pc to program it. programming from the front panel seems impossible. knobs are made of rubber and keep falling off. i am sure i will find more once i use it for a while if it lasts. Update: I was able to trudge through the manual and make the changes i needed from the front panel, took a while with the darn buttons falling off. Manual is not good but with some patience you can work through it. If you need a tiny radio and your budget allows i would look at the anytone 778.

good radio for the money
THE GOOD.. These are very good radios for the money, we currently have 6 of these the oldest is probably 3 years old, we can mounter all local emergency services, easily get into all of our local ham 2 meter and 70 cm repeaters. It IS NOT part 95 compliant by the FCC which means it IS NOT LEGAL for GMRS use, but it can broadcast and receive on all FRS, MURS and GMRS frequency's, use at your own risk on these frequency's. One of these radio's are in a ranch jeep it is our oldest radio, this thing has lived in hot dusty environment, been soaked with water and mud and has held up great. Easy to program with CHIRP. THE BAD.. They claim the they are 25 watt VHF 20 watt UHF, The ones we have only put out 18-19 watts, which is plenty of power for most repeater operation. The data port and speaker port are side by side on the back if you have your radio mounted to were you cant see the rear and put the programing cable into the speaker port it WILL blow your speaker.
