This is a dense and very hard wood, with fine grain that swirls around multiple burl buds. This block has been air dried to 10 12% moisture content. There are no checks or cracks. There is a bit of bark along one edge. It's shallow, so if you are turning this block, it will turn off easily.

This is a fashion watch people! Many people review these sub-50 dollar watches like they are supposed to be a timepiece you would hand down to your grandchildren. This is not that. If that's what you are looking for, spend more money. What this is: A decent looking inexpensive watch that is a homage to a much more expensive watch. If you expect the quality of a Brew Metric, purchase that. This keeps good time and is comfortable.
