As the contest for the Dardanelles Straits and the Gallipoli Peninsula raged, three Allied seaplane tenders and three land-based squadrons (two UK and one French) flew and fought against two mixed German and Ottoman squadrons (one land-based, one seaplane), the elements, and the fledgling technology. The contest was marked by experimentation, bravado, and airborne carnage as the men and machines plied the air to gain a strategic advantage in the new medium. As roles developed and missions expanded, the airmen on both sides tried to gain an advantage over their enemies. The nine-month aerial contest did not determine the outcome of the Gallipoli campaign, but the bravery of the pilots and new tactics employed foreshadowed the importance of airpower in battles to come. This book tells the lost story of the aviators and machines that opened a new domain for modern joint warfare. The dashing, adventurous, and frequently insouciant air commanders were misunderstood, misused, and neglected at the time, but they played an important role in the campaign and set the stage for joint military operations into the future. Their efforts and courage paved the way for modern joint operations at the birth of airpower.

Not worth your time!
Format: Paperback
The abstration level of the knowledge presented in this book is mixed and poorly organized, for example, it could leap from high level suddenly into the details of import packages and codes. This book tries to cover a loooot but achieves so little in any specific topic. Sometimes the high level logic is not even consistent, sometimes the low level details contain errors. There are nonsensical sentences, poorly formatted equations, figures should be printed in color to understand but are in black and white. While I may doubt myself of not being able to delve in at the beginning, gradually it is pretty clear that it is the poor quality of this book that drags me and makes me want to finish reading as soon as possible. I cannot believe this quality of writing was generated with the help of AI. This is an evidence that human can write much poorly than AI. All the figures from the cited papers are of poor resolution and quality. I have submitted more than 15 erratas to the publisher. These just cover the obvious mistakes or errors, and cannot cover the poor organization and logic of the book. It's such a waste of my money and time!

good book for beginners in Python and in simulation

Author made very short and simple intro into Python to jump into many different code examples to show how to solve them and to visualize results in Python. Reader will learn how to use Python libraries for modeling and simulation. Each example has an analytical solution and numerical with Python and visualization tools
