This handmade circuit, a beefed-up version of Farm's Spirit Animal distortion, pushes the envelope that all-important extra mile for heat, crunch, buzz, and more. However you like your bass distortions – sweet or savory – the Chariot Ascending has your back.
Farm Pedals set out with the Chariot Ascending to design a distortion that was simple and straightforward. Designed with bass in mind but friendly to guitar or keys, the Chariot Ascending drops in with two controls: Gain and Clarity. These two settings are highly interactive with one another for harnessing the amount of distortion in the signal and the shape of said distortion. The Chariot Ascending's gain control character varies from dark and spongey to bright and jagged for a versatile op-amp distortion while its clarity control dirties or scrubs the signal for either a broken-up fuzz feel or a clearer signal boost, acting as a blend control. Like many Farm effects, the Chariot Ascending plays exceptionally well with teetering tube amps and pristine solid states alike.
