Description:
A guide to surviving and thriving through your daughter's teenage years, from Dr Justin Coulson as seen on Channel 9's Parental Guidance.
What is the best thing about being a teenage girl right now? 'My friends!' 'Independence!' 'Discovering who I am.'
What is the worst thing about being a teenage girl? 'My friends.' 'Not knowing what the future holds.' 'Pressure to be perfect and look a certain way.'
What do teenage girls wish they could talk to us about? 'I'm sick of pretending to be happy all the time.' 'My face; if anyone is ever going to love me despite how grotesque my face is.' 'I sometimes don't want to be here.'
There has never been a better time to be a teenage girl. But perhaps there has never been a harder time. We know that connection is at the heart of our teenage daughters' happiness. And we do our best to have strong connections with our girls. But despite this, we often feel a disconnect. Or perhaps, more precisely, a mis-connect.
If you're looking to understand your teen daughter better and deepen your connection with her, this book is your guide. Drawing on cutting-edge psychology research along with interviews and surveys from close to 400 teenage girls, Miss-connection will take you into the world your teen girl experiences and help you connect with her the way she needs you to.
As the girls themselves set out the challenges they face - with social media, friends, boys, identity - you will find connection and solutions.

So much in this book. It’s about so much more than first love. There are layers about truths and what gives meaning to life…

Very Important Message for All of Us
Format: Hardcover
Absolutely delightful, oftentimes comical look at what is a very serious situation, collection of memorable metaphors of a memoir. A real page turner. I highly recommend it. There is a subtle recognition of a spiritual nature that we are all born with. Only some of us have the courage to live out the compelling spiritual direction that we come into the world with. Thank you Kyle.

Parents beware!
Format: Hardcover
This books is about a trans child running away from home and it basically teaches children how to do it. Nearly a step by step example.
Then at the end of the book the author offers “resources” and advice. The first advice the author gives is “this book itself is the advice” (meaning: run away from home) and then the author lists ways a child can get around their parents. Even telling children that if they have parental control features on their phones preventing them from looking up stuff (assuming “resources” to run away) that they can go to the library, even suggesting they ride their bike to the library so their parents don’t know, to look up “resources” at the library.
My daughter was somewhat disturbed by this book. She said: “I feel like it’s trying to brainwash me into hating you! I had to remind myself of who I am like every chapter. I’m afraid for kids who don’t know better.”
Parents beware!

Nasty
Format: Hardcover
Terrible blaming parent for trying to protect their child. She is committing a great moral evil. Shame on Dial Books for Young Readers for greenlighting a book with such a false, evil, and vindictive premise.
