Description:
"...a gripping narrative...this is a fascinating, albeit dispiriting read, a searing portrait of the appalling inequalities of the American Dream gone sour, a three-act tragedy played out against a soundtrack of gangsta rap." Mail on Sunday
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the South Bronx had one of the highest per capita murder rates in America. As the use of crack cocaine surged, replacing heroin as the high of choice, dealers and gangs staked claims to territory and consumers through intimidation and murder, and families found themselves fractured by crime and incarceration.
Chronicling the rise and fall of Sex Money Murder, one of the most violent gangs of its era, in this engrossing work of gritty urban reportage, Jonathan Green offers a visceral and devastating portrait of a New York City borough going down in flames, and of the detectives and prosecutors struggling to stem the tide of violence. Drawing on first-person interviews, police reports and court transcripts, Sex Money Murder, gives an extraordinary perspective on modern-day America.

Comfortable and Durable No-Show Socks
Color: Illusion Green Assorted, Size: Medium
The Under Armour Essential 2.0 No Show Socks are fantastic! This 6-pair pack is perfect for everyday wear, and the socks fit snugly without slipping off the heel. They are lightweight, breathable, and keep my feet comfortable all day, whether I’m working out or running errands.
The material feels durable and high-quality, holding up well after multiple washes without losing shape or elasticity. I also appreciate the moisture-wicking feature, which keeps my feet dry during exercise. Overall, these are reliable, comfortable, and well-made socks that are worth every penny.

Will last a good while despite not being overly thick.
Color: Black/Assorted, Size: 6-10
I purchased these socks about 14 months ago and I use them regularly with maybe five other pairs of socks made by a different brand. No holes so far. I used to buy Hanes and they barely lasted a week before I had to throw a pair of them out. I still use all six of these socks (assuming I can find them!) I often walk outside on my cement patio or tiptoe through the grass in socks so I am a little tough on them I guess you could say. I'm also very active. I don't exercise at a gym and thus don't use them in tennis shoes but walk most of the day when at home. I run around in my yard doing yard work and gardening. I also have worn them regularly at work while walking around in my steel toed shoes (which rub) and they somehow lived through that. They still look fine: no discoloration or weak spots in the heel which is usually the first sign of wear for me.
They are comfortable too. I don't feel any line at the toes and they don't rub or fit too tight in any way. I love the height of these, they are so short that they slip down in your shoe but not overly tall (I don't like the look and feel of tall socks). They are also lightweight and very breathable.
So great quality for the price. I'd recommend and I will likely buy the same brand in the future.
