Unfortunately, many exotic birds end up in rescues because their owners are unable to give the necessary care, attention, and time they require.

These birds often have life spans of 40 to 80 years (The Avian Welfare Coalition)*, making them lifelong companions -  an aspect that some owners may not realize. Additionally, many birds are rescued from situations of abuse or neglect.

Large exotic birds are inherently active and love to chew. They require engagement and stimulation to help fulfill instincts and prevent obesity. Birds have a natural instinct to tear things apart with their beak. Providing toys helps to keep birds happy and away from boredom which leads to feather-picking and excessive vocalization**. Large toys can be expensive for rescues to provide but crucial for the birds' well-being. Toys help to satiate their need to forage and encourage birds to practice problem solving skills. The variety of textures, sizes and colors creates additional stimulation for a bird**.

Send:

  • A Toy: this selection includes one large toy made of wood and rope that clips to a bird cage. Designed for durability this toy is perfect for large birds such as cockatoos or macaws.
  • Two Toys: This will give two durably constructed wood block and rope toys, each with a clip to hang from a bird cage. Interactive toys are big bird favorites.
  •  A Party Pack: This is a bird's dream! It includes a large durable wooden and rope toy and a wood and rope swing. Birds can hop on the swing and rock back and forth as they play with the wooden balls adorning it. This swing also easily clips to the top of a birdcage.

Make a bird's day brighter by sending toys today! These feathered friends are sure to appreciate it.

Impact Stories

Central California Mermaid Avian Rescue Center rescue provides care for several peafowl who have been surrendered or displaced when owners were no longer able to care for them. The enrichment toys and forage items were placed in different areas of the habitat to encourage curiosity and natural foraging behaviors. Providing enrichment opportunities helps prevent boredom and encourages movement and natural activity, which is important for large ground birds like peafowl. These improvements have made a noticeable difference in the peacocks’ daily routines, helping them remain active, curious, and comfortable within their habitat.

Blue, a 12-year-old Indian Ringneck parakeet, came to Central California Mermaid Avian Rescue Center during a deeply emotional time for his family. It was clear that both the bird and the family needed support. Like many birds who experience the loss of their primary caregiver, Blue initially showed signs of stress and sadness. With patience, enrichment, and a supportive environment, Blue gradually began to regain his confidence. The enrichment toys and foraging materials provided allowed us to create engaging spaces where Blue could climb, explore, and play—activities that are essential for a bird’s mental and emotional well-being. His personality returned, and he even formed a friendship with another ringneck at the rescue.

Pineapple, Bo and Papaya were extremely scared and withdrawn – While they got rescued from a terrifyingly suffocating hoarding case, while in their cage they felt frightened of the human touch. Houston Humane Society teams sprang into action to take care of these colorful birds. Their beaks were broken and they had over grown nails. Slowly they gained some strength. They felt safe and happy and content. Many days passed and slowly we discovered that they were now blossoming into their super charming personalities. They are happy and they talk a lot (to each other) and make sure that they eat their lunches together (always). Seeing them come into their own gives us immense pleasure and joy! We couldn’t do what we do without your generous support.

Parrots are incredibly intelligent, social animals, but they are often overlooked in the traditional shelter system. Providing them with proper enrichment is essential for their mental and emotional well-being, yet it can be costly and difficult for new rescues to maintain. Thanks to your donations, every parrot in their Maine branch received a new Christmas toy. These toys aren’t just fun; they provide crucial stimulation, encourage natural behaviors, and help prevent boredom and stress. This gift ensured that the Maine branch could celebrate the holidays with enriched, happy, and engaged birds, setting a strong foundation for the parrot rescue’s continued growth and success.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
